News from the ONO Spa

After a break of about 7 months, we are now back on our hotel blog with very good news from our ONO Spa...

Our managing director, Lutz Hesse, was at this year's Spa Life Germany trade event in the Allgäu from 7th to 9th of September 2020, as we were nominated for the Spa Star Award 2020 in the category Best City Spa Germany with our hotel-owned ONO Spa. The logo on our website probably already gives it away:

We won this category and brought the coveted award to Berlin!

We were thus able to compete successfully against our competitors, the Andaz Munich Schwabinger Tor and the Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome in Berlin, also nominated in the category City Spa.

What are the Spa Star Awards?

This year's Spa Life Germany congress was organized for the fifth time by redspa media GmbH from Baden-Baden and serves as a platform for exchange and networking, for discovering the latest trends and product innovations for hotel and spa managers as well as decision makers in the wellness industry. A particularly important topic this year was also the dialogue regarding the challenges and changes in the hotel and spa industry brought about by the Corona crisis.

Finally, the highlight of the 3-day congress was the presentation of the Spa Star Awards 2020 to outstanding hotels, city spas and spa teams. The Spa Star Awards were presented in a total of 7 categories: Newcomer, City Spa, Green Concept, Spa Concept, Health Concept, Spa Team and Spa Star plus. A special out-of-competition award, for which one could not apply, was the Special Award. Five renowned experts, who also presented the awards on site, selected the finalists in all categories.

Why did we win the City Spa category?

A nomination for the City Spa category was justified by the Spa Star Awards jury as follows:

"Exceptional Urban Day Spas or spas in a city hotel, which pamper their guests in a luxurious ambience with all-round relaxing feel-good treatments for tight time budgets".

Our ONO Spa, which was only reopened in 2019 after renovation, was convincing in this category, as our spa area offers a great atmosphere with lots of natural light and discreet retreats for relaxing in the middle of Berlin. We have also managed to combine discretion, privacy and security with high aesthetic standards and an incomparable sense of well-being. If you only need a short break during the week, you can book a 2-hour stay and get to know the fitness area and sauna facilities with the Kneipp offer. The 4-hour Day Spa is one of our bestsellers, where you can also enjoy a 25-minute treatment, whether it is a massage or a cosmetic treatment according to the needs of the spheres of beauty, relaxation, detoxification and activation. Of course, spending a whole day at the ONO Spa is also possible. With the 8-hour Day Spa, you will experience a full day of vacation above the rooftops of Berlin, directly at Potsdamer Platz. Included in this offer is also a 50-minute treatment and a 2-course menu at the QIU Bar & Restaurant of our hotel. In addition, you can park free of charge in the underground car park for the duration of the 4- or 8-hour Day Spa. We are back!

Finally yet importantly, we would like to share with you our second piece of good news: After a compulsory corona break of several months, our ONO Spa will reopen on 25th of September 2020. Up to now, only our fitness area was accessible and cosmetic and massage treatments could be booked on request. Now, however, the wellness and lounge area will also be available again - but with a temporary change due to Corona: All saunas will be set at 90 degrees, so you can choose from 3 Finnish saunas. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
