The year is coming to an end and we have experienced a lot! We were allowed to simmer not only in our own kitchen at Potsdamer Platz, but also beyond the state.
27./28.01. - 31st Schleswig-Holstein Gourmetfestival at the Parkhotel Ahrensburg & 27./28.10. - 32nd at the Ringhotel Friederikenhof
Twice we were invited to the Schleswig-Holstein Gourmet Festival. For the 31st we were called to the Parkhotel in Ahrensburg to the restaurant Le Marron. We cooked together with the team of the restaurant. The festival was founded in 1987 by the cooperation Gastliches Wikingland e.V. In fact, the festival is one of the oldest gourmet festivals in Germany and should not be missing in the calendar of every gourmet. The festival continues for several months, from September to March. That's why we were allowed to participate once again this year in the 32nd Festival at the Ringhotel Friederikenhof. We cooked a 5-course menu together with the kitchen team and chef Dirk Werner in the idyllic estate in Lübeck. Among other things, there were beetroot, smoked crème fraîche and soy caviar. The Kieler beer "Lillebräu" and wines from the Schlumberger portfolio and Selters could not be missed.
It was a great pleasure for us, to be there twice this year and we are looking forward to many more.
27.02. - eat! berlin 2018 "Enjoyable Cinema in the Astor Film Lounge"
Directly after the Berlinale there were 5 movies, 5 courses 3 bonnets and 2 Michelin stars. Once again, eat! berlin organized a delicious & exciting evening in the Astor Film Lounge on Kurfürstendamm this year. Instead of popcorn, there was a sophisticated 5-course menu by Michael Kempf with corresponding movies. Yes movies and not wines - as usual. The ticket pre-sale for the next exciting gourmet festival by eat! Berlin will start at the end of November.
14.4. - FACIL spring cooking class
Every year we are inviting to a cooking class at FACIL. Together with our guests, we rang in the culinary spring and cooked together at our stove in April this year. In the evening we enjoyed the 4-course menu in a pleasant company. Thomas Yoshida also shared his sweet arts in the patisserie kitchen several times this year. We are both very curious who will be visiting us in our kitchen next year!
20.05. - Sapori Ticino - Gourmet Festival in Ticino
This year S. Pellegrino Sapori Ticino celebrated its 12th edition under the motto "The Cuisines of the World" in Switzerland. Altogether, there were 21 top events in really extraordinary places in Switzerland from 9th of April to 17th of June. We flew beyond the German border, into the beautiful Ticino in May. Chef Dario Ranza welcomed our FACIL team at Villa Principe Leopoldo and together we created an elegant & delicious menu for our guests.
26.08. - Berlin hedonism gourmet festival St. Anton am Arlberg
Together with eat! berlin and the initiator Bernhard Moser we traveled to St. Anton in Austria. High up on the mountains with lots of fresh air at the Sennhütte, we were allowed to cook with great chefs such as star chef Sonja Frühsammer and Arne Anker from the Pauly Saal in Berlin. 14.10. - Kitchen party at Hendrik Otto - Restaurant Esszimmer at Hotel Adlon
On October 14th, Hendrik Otto from the well-known Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer, invited the FACIL team to his kitchen party. The 13 stars of the super chefs Hendrik Otto, Marco Müller, Sebastian Frank, Daniel Achilles and Sven Elverfeld prepared a magical evening with great food in an amazing atmosphere for their guests. Let's see where we will organize the next kitchen party in Berlin!
From the 5th to the 9th of November, well-known chefs, actors and actresses made sandwiches for the poor and homeless. The FACIL team also participated in the campaign for one day. Especially on the days when it is very cold at night, we are glad that the campaign "Kältebus" of the Berlin City Mission was initiated. It is an honor and a pleasure to support our community.
It's always nice to be able to cook in other kitchens to share culinary skills, discover new things and to offer people a great time. We are looking forward to next year. Of course we will keep you up-to-date!
