The Mandala Hotel is a DEHOGA certified top training company
In general, we had imagined 2020 to be a slightly different year, nevertheless we can report some successes this year. After our ONO Spa recently won the Spa Star Award in the category "Best City Spa in Germany", the achievements of our The Mandala Hotel are also recognised at training level, as we have been certified by DEHOGA with the seal of excellence for training companies.

What does the DEHOGA Seal of excellence for Top Training Companies mean?
This is the first nationwide and industry-wide training seal of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA), which is open to every hospitality business - whether restaurant, hotel, system or community catering, regardless of size and concept.

Companies such as ours, which are certified as a TOP training company, commit themselves to twelve binding principles for high-quality training and concretise their operational measures in a company survey - a win-win situation for us and trainees, because prospective trainees and their parents can see at first glance in which hotel and catering companies they can expect to receive excellent training and we as a company have the opportunity to stand out from the multitude of hotels in Berlin that offer training and to convince young talents of our high training standards.

The information provided by the participating companies is checked and confirmed by the trainees themselves in an anonymous survey. The quality of the training is thus guaranteed and the seal of a top training company is all the more credible.

The 12 guiding principles of the quality seal

We have always identified with the following guiding principles and have therefore shaped the way we deal with our trainees:
1. orientation phase and familiarisation period
We enable an optimal start to the training by providing an appropriate orientation phase and familiarisation period.
2. reference person and contact person
Each trainee has a reference person in the company who is available to answer questions and solve problems. Our long-standing restaurant manager, Mr. Finster, is also the training manager and thus the first contact person for our trainees.
3. qualification of the trainers
The qualification and presence of our trainers guarantees training at a high professional and human level.
4. working atmosphere
Our working atmosphere is characterised by openness to the world, fairness, tolerance and respect.
5. appreciation
We value the personality and performance of our trainees and are open to constructive feedback.
6. promotion of the trainees
We encourage participation in job-related projects, competitions and training through our trainee academy. At the Creative Cup Berlin-Brandenburg, for example, our trainees rank among the top positions every year.
7. vocational school
The vocational school is our partner in the dual training system, with whom we maintain exchange and cooperation.
8. final examination
Our trainees are intensively prepared for the final examination.
9. career and further training
We support our trainees in planning their career and further training.
10. work-life balance
We pay attention to a balance between work and private life.
11. working hours and training remuneration
Compliance with the legal regulations and the training framework is a matter of course for us. In addition, we are guided by the collectively agreed regulations in terms of working hours and training remuneration.
12. responsibility
Acting responsibly for the image of the entire industry.
